Macchi III gathered 160 of Southern California's most compelling Italian cars and motorcycles for a single Saturday in Los Angeles. Every machine was selected by invitation or application—not because it was the most expensive or the rarest, but because it had something to say. From Pebble Beach veterans to humble survivors, concours restorations to wonderfully imperfect drivers, every vehicle earned its place.

Alfa Romeo's breathtaking new 33 Stradale made its West Coast public debut as the event's centerpiece, joined by a Zagato-bodied 1956 Maserati A6G/54, a stunning Iso Grifo, and an eclectic cast that stretched from a Pegaso (velvet rope lifted due to its exquisite Touring design) to Appias, Fiats to Ducatis. It was less a concours than a conversation—a place where an eight-figure masterpiece and a weathered oddball attracted the same admiring crowd.

By day's end, the particulars had begun to blur. What lingered were the sounds, the conversations, and the improbable sight of so much Italian ingenuity and passion gathered in one place. That's always been the point of Macchi: not to celebrate perfection, but to remind us that the interesting things are usually the ones that stay with us.
